Job Purpose

Primary purpose of the R&D Specialist I LTS in GREEK LTS MU & MSU Team is to support the business requirements by carrying out laboratory work, presenting the results to the team leader, following the projects involved with the relevant parties .

R&D Specialist will be supporting the requirements of SC, QC / MU, MSU and the communication of the relevant Senior Chemist with PDC TRIM, WOOD-CARE, SPECIALTIES, WALLS and RDC

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

• Supports the required daily lab work and executes accordingly by proving all the needed raw materials , lab equipment and additional application elements such as drawdown charts , glass panes , various substrates per product category .
• Performs the required laboratory tests and communicates the results and interpretation of those results in an understandable format.
• Performs Benchmark tests following standards , applications test and provides the results in understandable format
• Has a technical content understanding for the TWSP portfolio
• Has a technical content understanding for the Colour portfolio
• Supports the communication of the obtained results of lab tests to either GREEK LTS mng and/or marketing/other R&D, PDC, RDC, R&D Color Technical Management Office
• Participates in the evaluation of customer's quality complaints
• Supports the calibration and certification of all lab's instruments for both LTS and QC.
• Supports all the requirements for natural weathering evaluations.
• Potential back up for IWP & EWP relevant responsibilities
• Supports the business with knowledge and guidance development for Colour and TWSP
• Ensures compliance to AN sustainability objective and safety.

Experience /Education /Competences and Skills

• Experience and knowledge of the paint business - especially of decorative paints - standard test methods would be an advantage.
• A degree level, or equivalent, in chemistry, physics or materials science would be an advantage
• Good English language skills (writing, reading and ideally good speaking level)
• Participate in the 5S standard for the LTS laboratory.
